To Bee or Not to Bee?

I just finished attending a 12 hour short course on introductory beekeeping.  

I was thinking about our young orchard—having bees would be great for pollinating, 

thus increasing yield of fruit.

 

My sister warned me that bees are a lot of work, and I must say that I agree, 

after listening to the experts!  

Those experts were passionate about their bees—and they are fascinating creatures.  

I’m going to do a lot more thinking and reading before I commit…

Meanwhile, the long Langstrom hive I purchased second-hand last year 

will sit quietly in the shop, patiently waiting for me!
