A new season begins!

For many people, September marks the beginning of new routines--getting their kids adjusted to school schedules and new teachers and classmates.  It's also the start of a new round of performances for professional and community orchestras alike.

Last night was our first rehearsal at Cosmic Symphony Orchestra.  I was delighted to see my cello was still in tune (it had been neglected most of the summer...!).

We sight-read through a cello concerto of Dvorak, and through Copland's Rodeo suite.  It sounded pretty good--I suspect many of the musicians have played these pieces before!

The Copland has lots of weird timings, tempos, and rhythms...so, wish me luck!

Concert October 28 and 29!
