Native Plants

After several attempts, I finally found the Native Plant Sale yesterday,
run by the volunteer group, Chesapeake Natives. (Lots of info on their website!)

The selection was extensive, the helpers knowledgable, and the ground extremely soggy!
I found everything I was hoping for, and then some.

The plant sale was held at the historic Mount Airy estate, where George Washington attended the wedding of his step-son, and his grandson was born.

The organization uses the historic outbuildings for their propagation and growing--there are plants and pots everywhere on the property!

The oldest outbuilding on the site is this cool-looking greenhouse, although the slanting brick layers don't seem the most structurally sound!
