Experiments in Kale

In addition to being roofers, the roofing crew are great gardeners!  So great that they keep bringing over grocery bags FULL of kale for us.

Now, my efforts at growing kale are truly wimpy—

you can see the puny size by the IKEA allen wrench for scale.

But kale, while trendy and super-healthy, is something you either love or hate.  

There’s no middle ground (unless you sneak it into a smoothie!)

With this gifted bounty, I'm trying a bunch of different things…

Kale chips are in the works…

…and I’m making some Kale Stem soup, cooked in whey left over from my latest cheese.

Lunch today is bruised kale salad with walnuts and feta!

Six trays of kale chips later, I’m am finally finished with ONE of my two bags of kale!
