Caregivers conference

Today was a learning day!
My sister and I attended a conference focusing on Caregiving, aimed primarily at family caregivers.

The keynote speaker was energetic and uplifting.
She spoke about her 16 year Alzheimer journey with her mother.

She found that Lego play was a great opportunity for engaging people with advanced Alzheimer’s.  Humility, Hope, and Joy was her message for us all.

The sessions I chose to attend gave me lots of info on dementia:  reversible and irreversible, and the different types of each.  I got lots of good strategies for dealing with different situations as well as and overview of  possible future changes.

There was also many exhibits and tables of local support organizations, so I’ve got lots more info to digest at home!
