Lattes with Lambs

I'm hesitant to call myself an artist, but under the influence of my sister, I recently joined two local artists' groups:  the Accokeek Artist Alliance, and the Mattawoman Creek Art Center.

I do draw every day, usually while winding down in front of the television in the evening.
I draw from my photos, and I take LOTS of photos on my phone, and then I take my time looking for photos with a balanced composition, and start from there.

Lately, the inspiration has been heritage breed farm animals that are featured at National Colonial Farm in Piscataway Park, a quiet little national park not too farm from here.

One of their big events the past few years is a day celebrating those heritage breeds;
they call the day "Lattes with Lambs." This year the event will be on April 15th.

They put out a call for artwork that features the park, the farm, the animals, and anything related--so this has given me a focus for a series of sketches.  (Those who have seen my work know that I usually sketch children at play--only I don't see much of that nowadays!)

I've been very brave by adding touches of watercolor to my sketches for this project, which is quite a departure for me!  I'll find out in a couple weeks if they like any of these that I've framed for the show!
