Feathered friends

The local farm stores have been teasing us for weeks about upcoming “chick days.”  Finally, shipments of day old chicks arrived at my closest farm store yesterday afternoon.  By the time I got there this morning, two of the four varieties were already sold out!

Luckily, the Barred Plymouth Rocks were still in plentiful supply.

They didn’t like the car ride much, but have settled into their temporary digs nicely.

  

Progress on building the mobile chicken coop continues slowly 

while I work around all the mistakes in my detailed plans.  

The chicks have a lot of growing to do before they move outside, 

so I think it will all work out!
