A Walk in the Woods

Years ago, my dad would rant about the annoying neighbors whose kids forged a loop through the woods opposite our creek with their smelly, noisy ATV.  

Those neighbors have been gone a long time, but the trail they blazed has softened into a gentle meandering track, just perfect for a nature walk with the dog.  

It got enough heavy use back then to create a hollow way, or sunken road, in the forest floor.  It's now covered in many layers of oak leaves but still a discernible path so you can't get lost...unless you want to!
