Bird watching

Pops is an avid bird watcher.  When it came time for him to return home from the nursing facility in November, one of the first things we did was to hang a bird feeder in a spot where he is able to see it from his bed in the living room.

It requires a ladder to resupply it, but luckily the cylinders of consolidated seed last a couple weeks.  We supplement that with a sprinkle of sunflower seeds on the brick windowsill.

Of course, I have to sketch them!

We get lots of titmice, downy and red-bellied woodpeckers, but my favorites are the nuthatches, who love to walk around upside-down.

We get lots of squirrels, too, who are very persistent when they know food is available!
